Woodturning as an evolving studio practice.
Lakkadghoom began when making with my hands became a necessity rather than a hobby. After a decade in design working as an architect and interior designer, I found myself searching for a slower, more direct relationship with material; one where thought travelled through touch, not screens.
Lakkadghoom became the space where my personal studio practice lives, documenting a relationship with material and craft.

Lakkadghoom
લ is the letter ‘L’ in Gujarati script, my mother tongue.
‘Lakkad’ translates to wood, and ‘Ghoom’ means the swirl, the turning.
As a professional architect & interior designer, this love for creation with a more hands-on approach always felt lacking in some capacity. I was always searching, looking for something that would drive my passion on a more active basis, not as a mere hobby. Lakkadghoom fulfilled that for me - to cater to a need for creating beautiful, purposeful objects with love and care.
Rooted in the artistry of woodturning, Lakkadghoom celebrates the intimate relationship between maker and material, where each handcrafted piece is a testament to the marriage of craft and creativity.
