Ceramics entered my practice during a self-directed ceramic artist residency at Hampi Art Labs (January–March 2025). As someone new to this medium, I approached clay with curiosity and a bit of playfulness, learning through slow experimentation with hand-building techniques, natural oxides, and binders. What began as exploration is gradually becoming an integral part of my artistic language.
Working with wood and clay draws out different sides of me as a person, as an artist. While one is forgiving, the other endures. While one yields, the other shows restraint. Unlike working with clay, you don't get a second chance on the same piece with wood on the lathe; whatever happens, happens. I hold deep respect for both materials, for their contrasting personalities and the distinct lessons they continue to teach me.
